Rates - Tariffs

We offer the same tariff/rate all year round - any day of the year.  We do not put a loading our tariff's for the summer period or at weekends like most properties.  

Please note this is a heritage property with historic wells and a large unfenced fish pond.  We have no facilities for children under the age of 12 years!   

(Glen Isla House is an adult-style retreat - we welcome children 12 years and older)

Our tariffs are quoted in Australian Dollars - inclusive of Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) and all service charges.

Our rooms offer a hotel-style safe plus a small refrigerator for your use, and are not 'mini-bars' with ridiculously priced beverages! 

(Glen Isla House has a liquor license and offers a small but execellent wine list for purchase by guests for consumption on and off the premises at very reasonable prices)

Secure off-street parking inside the extensive Glen Isla grounds provided for all vehicles (free) - and not in public view. We do not ask guests to park on the street.

FREE internet access via our secure WiFi wireless network (on an as-is basis fair & use policy applies and we reserve the right to deny access at our discretion for over use).

Current standard published tariffs/rates (applicable through to 31st December 2014).  

These are our published retail any day of the year rates.  

Alas a modest increase has been made (our first since January 2012) from 01JAN14 to cover continued cost increases we've experienced in electricity and gas, council rates and land taxes and food costs.  We have recently installed a 4.5KW solar system in the business in an attempt to contain the electricity cost increases. Time will tell if we've been successful!

Despite massive increases in Land Tax by the State Government over a number of years on our historic heritage property, we're still able offer refined and elegant accommodations at our historic property.

Our rates are for overnight stay for two guests, including our special breakfast (cooked gourmet or continental) breakfast.  Breakfast is preapred in our professional restaurant kitchen, inspired and preapred by our resident professional chefs & served in our restaurant-style dining room at your own table.

Anderson Heritage Suite Cottage (Our genuine historic/heritage accommodation offering - c1870)

Glen Isla Classic Deluxe Rooms (Purpose architected deluxe guest accommodations)

Queen-size beds (one available with twin single beds as an option), modern private en-suite facilities, walk-in dressing/luggage room and extensive garden vistas. Purpose-architected rooms in our Glen Isla House guest wing offering separate entrance, elegant interior décor and sunny deck veranda with outdoor café settings. All with LCD TV/DVD. - Very elegant accommodations!

Elegant & Stylish Self-Cater Accommodations:

The Gate Cottage
Two-bedroom, two-storey self contained/self-cater elegant cottage set in the heritage gardens adjacent to two 100-year old oak trees.  Rates are per night - Accommodation Only/Self Cater basis. 

Fully equipped kitchen (stainless steel gas stove, microwave oven, dishwasher, refrigerator), dining, lounge with widescreen HD LCD TV (also DVD/VCR/CD & Hi Fi)..  Master bedroom with KING bed and second bedroom with twin single beds - shared spacious bathroom with shower over hip bath. 

The Gate Cottage is offered on a "self-cater" (Accommodation Only) basis - we provide tea/coffee and milk.  There are three good supermarkets in Cowes nearby for provisions.  The Cottage accommodates up to 4 adults.  Note there are 17 steps up to the bedrooms (they are upstairs).  These facilities are generally unsuitable for children.  Two-night minimum stay at all times.

For stays of  7 days or more, a mid-stay room service is included in the tariff.  For stays of less than 7 days, room servicing is available as follows.

- Room servicing including beds made, bins emptied, kitchen tidy-up (no dishes included) and bathroom amenities replenished. AUD$65.00 per service

- Room servicing including linen change, bins emptied, kitchen tidy-up, dishwasher filled or emptied and bathroom amenities replenished AUD$80.00 per service

The Fine Print

For our hosted accommodations (Glen Isla Classic Deluxe Rooms and Anderson Heritage Suite), one-night stays are welcome!  

But do note we have a minimum night stay policy on long weekend/public holiday weekends and certain special events weekends.  

The Gate Cottage is a 2-night minimum stay at all times.  (4 night minimum over Christmas/NewYear)

We cater for dietary requirements.  Our chefs are experienced in special dietary requirements, but PLEASE ADVICE US 48 hours IN ADVANCE so we can prepare accordingly.

Check-in time:   from 3pm to 7:00pm (later check is possible if prior arrangements are made before arrival)
Check-out time: 11am 

If you need to depart early in the morning, please settlle your account the previous evening.  

For Glen Isla Classic Rooms and The Anderson Heritage Suite accommoations, with notice we can usually provide a simple continental breakfast in your refrigerator for the morning of early departures.

Pets:  

Sorry - no pets allowed at Glen Isla House (visually-impaired persons with guide/seeing-eye dogs - with identification excepted of course).

Parking: 

We have ample parking for all guest vehicles inside the grounds (off the street).  We never request guests to park on the street in public view.  

If you are bringing a trailer with a race vehicle, we can accommodate you inside the grounds but please advise us in advance so we can ensure adequate parking arrangements for all guests.

All vehicles are parked at owners/guests risk.  We do not accept any responsibility for damage to vehicles while parked on the premises at Glen Isla House.

Dining Options for Lunch/Dinner?  

We can recommend a selection excellent restaurants nearby to Glen Isla, and we have their menus available here at Glen Isla for guests to peruse. See our Food & Wine page for information.

We do not cater for weddings these days, and we do not cater for evening meals or operate a restaurant open to the public.  (with penalty rates in the hospitality industry as they are, its simply not viable to offer evening meals any longer in our dining room)

If you would like to have wedding photographs in our historic gardens, please contact us for information and our schedule of charges for a professional photograhy shoot in the gardens with your photographer.

The Glen Isla dining room is reserved exclusively for our special chef's breakfast service for resident Glen Isla House guests staying in our historic Anderson Heritage Suite and Glen Isla Classic deluxe room accommodations.

Our booking and cancellation policy


We require valid credit card details (or payment of one nights tariff  in advance) to secure a booking/reservation. (We do not accept tentative reservations)

A deposit is not required (unless your reservation is not able to be secured by a valid credit card).  When your booking is CONFIRMED and secured by a valid credit card, we guarantee your reservation and we will hold your room..

Cancellation of a confirmed reservation/booking up to 7 full days before the day of arrival will incur an administrative charge of AUD$50.00 per room at our discretion

Cancellation within 7 days of arrival, will incur one nights accommodation (at the tariff for the booked room) charge as cancellation fee regardless of the reason for the cancellation, unless we are able to resell the room.  

A no-show (non-arrival without prior notification) for a confirmed booking will incurr the full cost of all booked nights that we are unable to resell..

Settlement
We accept Cash, EFTPOS (for Australian Card Holders), Visa and MasterCard as settlement.

We also accept AMEX and Diners, but please note we will charge a 3% levy on AMEX and Diners payments to cover the additional merchant fees and handling costs associated with American Express and Diners Club transactions. We regret we are unable to accept cheques at check-out time.

NON SMOKING Policy
All inside areas including our rooms and bathrooms etc are absolutely NON SMOKING at all times

Should we determine that guests have been smoking in our room areas, we will charge a minimum of AUD$600 to have the room professionally stripped, cleaned and sanitised.  If we are unable to re-let the room. while it is being refurbished/sanitised, we reserve the right to charge the ruling daily tariff for those nights also. It is a condition of staying with us that you agree to our non-smoking policy (otherwise we suggest you find other accommodations - we are passionate about this aspect of our business and make no apologies for this policy).  Providing it does not interfere with the enjoyment of other guests, we have no objection to guests smoking in the garden areas away from the buildings!

 

We are not associated in any way with the nearby motel/apartments that operates with a similar name (we have never been associated with this property).  

The authentic heritage gardens and facilities at Glen Isla are absolutely private property & reserved for the exclusive use of Glen Isla House resident guests.

Glen Isla House is part of the original and historic Glen Isla property dating back to c1870, owned and operated by the Baker Family since 1999.
